Yesterday everyone in the in school had their first club for term 3. My club is Art and it was so fun because we got to make our own patterns and we are going to put it on totem poles next week..  Mrs Raj and Mr Numia were teaching us i was happy because we will  be putting our pattern on wood.

The Three States of Matter?

Today we have been learning about the three states of matter (solid, liquid and gas) and the changes of matter. In this experiment we first melted the chocolate and then took it out of the microwave after 1 minute. We took some baking paper and then took some chocolate, made a shape and after making a shape Miss Stone took it away and then let it be a Solid so we can eat it!

Military fitness

This morning Room 10,  Room 8, Mrs Raj and Mrs Pome’e  went down to the courts to do a military style fitness.

Room 8 did some warm ups to get the whole class stretched and ready.  Room 10 students went inside the circle and showed us exercise to follow.

Last we bunched up, sang our chanting and jogged  around the whole courts then we went back to class.

Today Room 10 went to the hall to do Kiwi Sports.

The first thing that we did was play a game called sea,shore and shark.

When we played sea,shore and shark what we had to do was Antonia called one of the three things. When Antonia calls shark we have to run to the place that she tells us to run.

Next we did some passing for the day. We had to do 4 types of passes. The first pass was the chest pass. Next was bounce, then over head and finally the last one was shoulder pass.

When we finished we went back to class to write a recount about our netball lesson.

I enjoyed playing netball because netball is a lot fun to play.

Charlie and his friends

I learnt about this dog called Charlie. Charlie is a Lowchen dog and he is from Germany. This dog is very sporty and very fast.I enjoyed learning about Charlie because this dog is very interesting. 

Geometrical shapes

Today room 10 went out to our school netball courts to do fitness. Mrs. Raj told room 10 to split up into 2 groups. In our groups we had to make geometrical shapes with our bodies.

The first group had to make the shapes of a square, circle and a diamond. We all  worked together to make the shape and to get it right.

Next the second group had to make the shapes of a triangle and a rectangle.  Lastly both groups made the shapes of a trapezium and an oval.

Finally we did  10 star jumps, 10 pushups, 10 step ups and jumped up and touched our toes 10 times.Then we shared our facts about the shapes with Mrs Raj. We ran around the netball courts two times before going back to class. I enjoyed our fitness because we did some learning about geometrical shapes as well.

Today I have been teached by one of the media team students.I had to insert a shape to make my table make it look so special.Then I had to colour and name the shape etc.Even name how many sides does it have and the points. Why a goalkeeper’s job important.

The goalkeeper for a soccer team is a very important       player.It is the goalkeeper’s job to stop balls that are kicked by other team from going in the goal.He stays in the goal area so he can guard the net.      

The goalkeeper stops a goal by catching the

ball.Punching it or hitting it with any part of his body

He has to be very fit because he has to move quickly from one side of the goal area to the other.

The goalkeeper’s job is very important,because he stops the other team from scoring goals.

Room 10's fitness challenge

Today room 10 had a fitness challenge.We challenge the other house in our class.The first challenge that we did was 3 lap around the school courts.when we finished the three laps we sat down to hear the score of the house’s the winner of the house was Kauri they had one minute 50 second the kaui house felt so happy.

The second activity we did was push ups.The best mele for the push up was Tangimetua and the best female was kalo and candice.

Next we did sit ups this activity was very challenging.

I felt so happy to try something that good to make your body fit.

The next activity was shuttle run.Shuttle run is just like running to something like a line or circle then we run back to your team and tag their hand.

Finally we gathered at the starting point were we got our scores Then we went to class to do the points for our house.

I felt very happy and fit after this challenge.we will try our best to work hard for our next challenge.

Yesterday room 10 had kiwi can. First thing we did is sat down and listened to Mr. Numia. After we did that, we did our activity called nice circle. We had fun, i was huffing and puffing because we had to form a circle and say something nice about each other.

Then we sat down again and then also listened to Mr. Numia talking about respect. We answered his questions. We were talking about being kind, what we like and being respectful.

It ran out of time because room 10 was wasting a little bit of time.

We had fun anyways. I was happy and upset and the same time because i played a game where we have to form a circle and say nice things to each other, and i was a little bit upset because room 10 wasted a little bit of time.

I had fun playing the activities and playing with my best friends. I felt happy.

Today we did a PAT listening test and it was very hard,confusing and most of all interesting.

I liked the test because we got to use headphones and it was difficult and i like difficult tests because difficult tests are interesting and will make you get good mark's in reading,writing and maths.
