Snow dream poem

I felt wet snow on my cold dry skin

As the darkness falls to settle in

The stars shine, bright to lead my way

In the snow I lay down to have a rest,

Now the snow is in a very big mess  

Window panels, covered in sparkling frost

It reminds me of something  i have lost

My heart tells me in hours this day will be past,

When nightime comes to me slowly at last

I am back in the snow so pristine and clean.

Sadness, shows me I've found this was only a dream.

Term 4 Week 2 Maths activities

Library bus

I was feeling excited to see that the library bus from Glen Innes come to our school for the first time. Mr Nath called 3,2,1 and I quickly put my netbook in my desk and quietly got into a line. We all walked to the car park and we could see Erika our librarian standing at the door waiting for us. When we walked into the library buse saw a lot of books. Erika introduced Bert, the driver of  the library bus to us. After Erika finished the introductions, we walked up to the children's area were all the fiction and non-fiction books were.

Next Mr Nath called each student to come and get there library card. Then we all had to pick two books from the children's area, Then Erika called us down to the adult area. The numbered books were the fiction books and the ones with no numbers were the non-fiction books. Most of the year 7’s went down to the adult area and picked non-fiction books.

I can't wait until the next library bus comes back next month, because we all get to pick two more books. It was very fun and exciting to read through some interesting books.

Life Education Caravan

This week, room ten had life education with Miss Nicole. Tuesday, as soon as we walked inside her caravan, we sat down and we waited for Nicole to speak and introduce herself.  After that, we talked about our feelings and our well being, we then watched a short clip about puberty and growing up.

On Wednesday morning, we talked about our body and how we grow, Thursday was our last day and we discussed about when puberty begins and when it stops. I felt amazed on what Miss Nicole knows, she was pretty smart and I will thank her for the knowledge about on how our body changes.

First Aid

On Monday morning, room ten had a session with Rob in the hall about first aid. We sat down on the floor and he introduced himself quite properly, we next talked about these letters, D,R, S, A, B and C. D stands for danger, R stands for response, S stands for send for help, A stands for clear airway, B stands for check for breathing and C stands for circulation. We did some activities and talked about more and more things to do when your in danger.

I personally liked the activities, we were got books to be taken to class and write on. I was proud of my class for behaving well, even Rob said he was impressed with our behaviour. I think it was the best session yet. I enjoyed it a lot!

Digital Immersion

Today we had a lesson called digital immersion with Garry. we all learnt how to code a robot and how to program it. We also learnt to control these robots to go to different groups or in different places in the class room. It was fun  and challenging.

Crinky little chips packet

I flew in the air and yet nobody bared,There it starts to rain suddenly t
hen i flew into the drain

I was floating down the pipes and I saw a weird site.

I then got washed onto the beach, and there i saw a peach.

I went to the pacific ocean and i found some lotion.

I was picked up by a man,he put me in a trash can,

now i’m in the right place and finally i’m safe.

Why do I blush?

1. People blush when they are talking to people or being shy
2. People blush if you are waving at someone and trip over and feel embarrassed in front of others
3. They also blush by starting to over heat
4. You can blush if something is awkward and when people are watching you saying a speech in front of a lot of people.
5. I blush when people are saying good comments about me.

Kiwi Can

In kiwi can we all played a warm up game called human knot. Human knot is a game which you have to untangle your self without letting your teammates hand. we all split in to a boy and girl teams and started to work out and solve how to get out of the human knot. It was very hard to get untangled but i still had fun trying and solving out how to get untangle.

This article is about a group of classmates who decided to design and build a trap to catch possums that were damaging the plants.

The idea came into their mind when Craig Bond, one of the designers got a   flat tyre while driving around. He was helped by a stranger who helped him by using a small canister of compressed gas to inflate the tyre.

After studying all the different types of traps, they decided to build a trap that was  affordable, easy to carry and would be reliable and last long.

In 2010 they finally made a trap that they were happy with. It was gas powered and it had a digital counter as well.

Happy Cook Island Language Week!

Science Intensive with Mrs. Tofa! (How to make things glow in the dark)

Yesterday, room ten went to room seven for science Intensive. We firstly got welcomed in the classroom by Mrs. Tofa, and then we sat on the mat with our netbooks in our houses. Soon after that, Mrs. Tofa explained what our activities were, it was glow in the dark. I was so excited!! Glow in the dark is one of my favourite things to do, I just couldn’t wait. After morning tea, we started to make glow in the dark.

We firstly got materials from Mrs.Tofa and started making glow in the dark. She gave us clear plastic cups to fill in some water, and then we got some highlighters Ink to put inside the water. Not long after that, we went inside a dark room to actually discover if our experiment worked. I was so happy to see it work, that was one of the best experiment I did. It was the most surprising experience ever! I hope I can do it again in my own time.  

Movie Time

During my holidays, my family and I went to the movies. The movie that we all enjoyed watching was called Mama Mia.
We went on a bus to the movie theatre. When we got in the theatre we had to buy the tickets and the food. It costed us $65. I thought it was expensive. 

I really enjoyed watching this movie because it has such lovely music. Mama Mia is a very nice movie and the best part of watching this movie was the ending because the people in the movie were singing mama Mia here we go again. It was so funny and melodious.

In november 1608 Galileo Galilei the professor
of mathematics at padua university pointed his homemade
optical tube at the moon changing the world's view of the universe.
The story of how this brilliant innovative and popular scientist ended his
days. Galileo was born in  1564 the eldest of seven children. His family moved to
florence when he was about ten. He was in university of padua in italy. One of his
experiments were from the leaning tower of pisa.

Galileo discovered convinced that the earth was not in the center of the universe
as most people believed. He published his discoveries in 1610 in a book called sidereus  nuncius .he spent his life sad alone blind and under house arrest.

Plot: They found a mysterious businessman named Sammy Sharkfur in Hawaii.
The Thea Sisters are curious on what's going on, so they find out that a volcano called
Mauna Loa is going to explode. They quickly warn everyone in the hotel and everyone gets
out. There are also suspicious “Fake” police mice. Soon after they noticed Sammy Sharkfur
was working for the police mice, they immediately arrested them! Then they went back home
safe with a nice goodbye with their friends.

pricewaterhouse coopers

Monday to Thursday the pricewaterhouse coopers came to our school to teach us how to be trustworthy and how to save your money. I hope that pricewaterhouse coopers come back to our school to teach us more about saving money and how to borrow.

Clubs

On Thursday the 17th of may 2018 the whole school was split into different
types of clubs like ukulele, art ,craft, and other clubs. I was in the craft club.
That club is so much fun because we get to do different types of art and craft. Our teachers
are Mrs. Raj and Miss Card.

For our clubs we have been doing arts and craft like stain glasses and we use
laminating paper , glue, scissors and different types of colours like yellow, red ,
purple and blue..

Success criteria: My writing will have all the structural and language features of an
information report.

Structural features : Title, General Statement, Description, Evaluation.

Language features : Nouns, Adjectives, Past tense verbs.  

                                                      Solar system

In the solar system, there are nine planets their moons orbit around the sun.
The name of these planets are mercury, venus , neptune, mars, saturn, pluto,
uranus, jupiter and earth.

                                                      

In the solar the nine planets orbit the sun. some of these planets are gas giants
and some have rings made out of dust and ice. In the solar system there is gravity
to hold up the sun and the 8 planets together so they don't float away from the solar
system.

                                                              

Mercury is the closest to the sun and the smallest in our solar system.Mercury has
no moon and no rings. A day on the surface on mercury will take 178 days. A year
on mercury surface will take 88 days.

                                                                

Venus does not have any moons or rings.Venus is nearly as big as the Earth with
a diameter of 12,104 km Venus is thought to be made up of a central iron core rocky
mantle and silicate crust.

Earth has one moon and quarters of the earth is covered by water and land. Earth is
the place that we all live on. Earth has organic life and  has 20% of oxygen. The earth
is a place that has storms.

Mars is a cold winter at its farthest point from the Sun. Mars is the second smallest in
our solar system. It is the fourth planet from the sun and it is a planet with large
volcanoes and mountains.

The planet Jupiter is the fifth planet out from the Sun and is two and a half times more
massive than all the other planets in the solar system combined.

. Reading is my favourite subject because i learn about new reading activities.

Social:

For social i want to improve on speaking confidently and standing up for yourself.
Helping others in class and interacting.

Sports:

For sports if somebody does not no how to play teach them how to play by explaining the rules so that the game is fair.
