He is the greatest artist

 God is the greatest artist

To whom no one can compare,

Streaking sunsets very beautiful,

Painting rainbows in the air.

Brushing green the hillside scene,

Blotting blue the sky above,

Splashing flowers 'cross the ground beneath,

Shading white clouds with His glove.

Of the wonders God has made

There is none that is so fair

As the smile He paints upon your face

When you realize He's there.

Never lose faith - Poem

 Never lose faith

In life, there is never a time when God will leave our side,

All you gotta do is trust in him and the bad times will slide.

Never lose hope in god and more over in yourself,

For god has blessed everyone with a magical elf.

This little friend will protect you in times of distress.

He will lead you where you ought to go ‘ coz he knows best,

And when you find yourself completely lost without a clue,

Just smile my friend, and a new door will open for you.

Glenbrae Students should wear want they want to school!

Glenbrae students should wear what they want to school!

Talofa Lava, My name is Bianca Tua and I am a year 8 student at Glenbrae primary school in Glen Innes. As you all know Glen innes is a very small community which has colleges, Primary schools and kindergartens. Our class is now learning how to write argument Writings based on the topics we were given. As you can see by the topic on my doc, We are arguing about Glenbrae students should wear what they want to school.

Firstly, people should wear uniforms because uniforms outeach students to dress smartly and take pride in their appearance. It also means that you are representing your school and recognisable. Also if you wear your uniform with pride, it means you are halfway there to being respectful, buying into what the organisation is all about.

Secondly, Wearing a uniform means that you are taking pride in your school and what you wear also that you appreciate what they have given you. The logo on your uniform is the school that you are representing. It is ok to wear different clothes but during school it's good to wear a uniform.

Lastly, giving students too much freedom in their dress code will cause unnecessary problems, fighting, and stress. When there is less violence, bullying and peer pressure students feel safer attending school. Uniforms are extremely beneficial but most importantly in poorer and dangerous areas.

Kind regards

Bianca Tua

Shrinking into a miniature student

“Ring” Goes to the lunch bell. We had just finished lunch and it's time for science . As we entered the Science Lab, Jay wanted to have a look at the experiment test tubes. He thought it would be funny if we played with the liquid. As class was going to start Jay tripped and the liquid from the test tube spilt on us, as the liquid was dissolving on us we slowly were turning into miniature students.

“Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh we are shrinking” I yelled but my voice sounded like a mouse.

How were we meant to survive? We had no idea but we had to make a plan on how to survive as miniature students. Since Jay was the only person that didn’t shrink we tried our best to make contact with him to see what he can do to turn us back into our normal size.

As days went by we slept under a cardboard box. One day our science teacher walked into the room, “Ring, ring” goes his phone as he answered, I was so surprised I heard our parents talking over the phone saying,

”Hello Mr, my name is Ashley. I am Jay’s mum. My kids have not returned home. Please help me find them. I am worried”.

The science teacher reported us missing; they asked everyone at school to tell them where they saw us last. After many hours of them looking around for us Jay reported to the Science teacher that he was playing around with the test tubes and accidentally spilt it on us and we had disappeared. So Mr bob the science teacher reported to the police that we were missing and we were probably a fraction of our normal size. What did they do next? Well they released the dogs, called detetives to try and find us.

The next day, one of the detectives was looking for fingerprints but still no sign of us. Then Mr Bob had forgotten that he had a hidden camera in the room so he looked at the footage and saw that we had turned into small students. How did they know where to find us? Well we did leave a lot of fingerprints so the detective could probably find our fingerprints around the class. Then the detective found the traces of our fingerprints and footprints but there was still no sign.

Later at night the detective had kept searching with the magnifying glass and had spotted us under the table. As a sign of relief!

I was so happy that they had found us. How did we manage to be normal sized humans? Well thank goodness for technology. The science teacher had to reverse the shrinking liquid to make us big again. Days after, Jay and the rest of us had a boundary to never touch the test tubes. I am so happy that we are back to normal.

Covid 19 update

New zealand is the second safest country, there was an update yesterday about New zealand being second ranked safest country during the covid 19 pandemic. Countries like the United states are very bad but they are lucky enough that they are not on the most dangerous country list.

The contribution of Mrs and Mr Gock

P - Point
Who is Mrs and Mr Gock?.  Mrs Gock is Fay and Mr Gock is Joe, they are both chinese and have been married for 63 years since 1956. Joe and Fay were very helpful because they had provided fruit and vegetables for people in their area. They had struggled with some of the plants such as broccolis and Kumaras. They have been gardeners for half of their lives.

E - Evidence
The reason why they had to struggle with growing some of the vegetables and fruits was because of a nasty disease called black rot. Black rot is a disease that makes the vegetables and fruit rotten, and some of the kumara that they had been growing also had black rot.

E - Explanation
How did they contribute? They had contributed to New zealand about saving the kumara. They helped save NZ’s kumara and contributed to New zealand about  their service. They saved one half of New zealand Kumara. Joe and Fay had advice on how to save New zealand kumara.

L - Link
Since Mrs and Mr gock have been gardeners for half of their lives, they had really supported New zealand with the kumara and other vegetables. They have really done alot for New zealand, even though they are not here they have succeeded in life.

Earthworms/ Technology

Earthworms – Te Ara Encyclopedia of New Zealand

A couple of weeks ago, the year 8 students including me have been learning about
earthworms.
Earthworms was our  topic  , Our first period was learning about the earthworms.
The facts about the worms were very interesting, after the reading and researching
about the
worms we had the opportunity to investigate the worms. It was a very interesting
experience to learn about the worms.

Plastic / Technology

Plastic Free July - Plastic Free Scotland
In our first day of technology, we had learnt about plastic and the uses of it. We had watched clips and written down facts about what we had learnt for the video. After gathering all the information about plastic we moved on to our other task, which was a sentence puzzle. We had to put the sentences in the right places. Mrs sharma asked us if we could right down negative, positive and neutral. After all of that we went to our next task which was sorting out the plastic. For this activity we were split into groups and started planning on what types of plastics we had and putting them in their own places. I really enjoyed learning with Mrs sharma.

                              Covid 19 has returned

There were two confirmed cases in New zealand. After 24 days of no cases of Covis 19 Director general of health Dr Ashley bloomfield had announced the news. The two new cases were from people that had arrived from the United states of America.

The news brings the confirmed amount of cases which is 1156,  and the combined total of confirmed and probable cases to 1506. The Prime minister had to act fast before the Covid 19 would spread.

Explantion writing about Harakeke

The Harakeke has many uses in New zealand

Bianca

What is Harakeke? Harakeke is a type of plant that is used for many things. The plant also represents a moari family, there are three leaves in the middle of the plant which is called the (rito) which is the child of the plants. The outer leaves of the harakeke plant are called the (awhi rito) meaning the parents and the surrounding leaves are the tupuna (the grandparents and the ancestors).

Before harvesting the Harakeke plant firstly you need to say a karakia(prayer) before cutting the Harakeke plant. Secondly cut at an angle from the side never the center. Never Harvest the plant at night or eat next to the Harakeke plant. After that, create craft and return any unused harakeke back to (Papatuanuku).

The harakeke plant also helps with health and different injuries on the human body. The seeds of the harakeke plant are highly edible and good for the human blood cycle. The harakeke is also made into different types of body products, for example: Soap and shampoo. It's also a wine too.

Harakeke(flax) is a very native plant that is grown across the world but it's mostly fresh in new zealand. The harakeke is a very special plant because it helped people from centuries ago meaning some of our ancestors.

Taha maths

This is Todays Maths

In the photo is the strategy I came up with my group.
First we add 1 1/2 with another 1 1/2 which equals to 3 meters.
So times the 3 meters by 10 and get 30 meters.
We counted how many 1 1/2 we added altogether and got 20.

So then that is how much ta'ovala Malakai's mother made and also how many boys that are in the Tongan group

Writing about Harakeke

Facts about the Harakeke plant
Flax was a valuable resource. People around the world use flax to make different
creations and is also made for clothing. Special flax plants
The plant was seen as a family. The central shoot or rito was the baby
and the leaves on either side of it the awhi rito or matua (its parents).
Only the leaves on the outside of the tupuna, or grandparents were cut, to
avoid weakening the plant. The Harakeke plant is a useful plant that some
people use for medicine and other health things.
What its used for/ health
The Harakeke seeds are highly edible and are good
for the human body. The googy subscene on the outer side of the leaf is used
for infected
wounds and also used for weaving.

History of book / enjoyment reading

Today the book I have been reading is Goosebumps Halloween, this book is about
a girl named Sarah who is tired of worrying about what her younger brother Sonny
has gotten into. He’s always doing dangerous science experiments, and it's up to her
to keep him out of trouble.

When Sonny and his friend Sam find a ventriloquist dummy labeled “slappy” in
an abandoned house, they decide to take him home. What they don't realize is that
they brought him to life and he’s evil. Slappy starts using his dark magic powers
to make Halloween decorations come alive all across town and they are not friendly.

Even worse, he kidnaps Sarah and Sonny’s mom, only Sarah and Sonny, Sam can stop
slappy before it's too late. But will he end up stopping the first ??

Technology - Science

Today, the year 7 and 8's wwent to technology. We learnt about Earthworms, Earthworms are a living animal that lies beneth our feet. These worms help bring air into the soil and carbon dioxide out of the soil. Our secound period we had to obsever the worms on how they move, size and behavour. We had our own lids with earth worms in it with a bit of wet soild so we could investigate the worms while they are still alive.

After observing the worms i made some notes on what i learnt about the worms. Most of the worms were females and that were carrying their eggs in the clitellum part of the body. Worms also get very angry when custerd and water is spilt on the soil it makes them come up to the surface to get air to make the soil fresh so that friuts and vegtables grow.

It must magic/ questions and answers

What is Astrid holding in her hands?
Flower
Is it really magic?
Yes because of the light that beamed on the flower
Where did she find the item?
In the forest
Why is she all alone in the forest?
Maybe because she want to explore nature's life
What could happen next?

A miracle would have happened to her

It must magic

Astrid held out her hands. She was alone in the forest, the silence surrounded her.
She could hear a strange buzz around giving her a tingly feeling going down her spine,
like a bee was settling on the object that she was holding in her hand.

She held the flower so protectively in front of her.
Her hands were suddenly filled with a great confiting warmth,
as a silvery light pulsed from the object. She happily said
“It must be magic” she muttered excitedly under her breath.

“It has to be magic “
